Patience! With all the right fundamentals in place, one can make a ridiculously large sum of money in a short amount of time. It might take years to hone the processes and systems to create the foundation to make that possible but don't get caught up in the competitiveness and try to sprint to grow in sales and a bigger infrastructure. My mantra is "Slow down to go fast."

Professional background
Michael Hodgin is the founder of Maestro’s Toolbox, a consulting and coaching firm dedicated to helping construction and remodeling companies build more profitable, scalable, and sustainable businesses.
After launching his first construction company as a one-man operation in 2000, Michael spent more than two decades growing Coleman Creek Construction into one of Southern Oregon’s most respected remodeling firms, employing a team of more than 20 professionals. Throughout that journey, he developed a passion for the systems, financial management, and leadership practices that transform small businesses into high-performing organizations.
Known for his practical approach and deep industry expertise, Michael specializes in helping owners understand their numbers, improve operational efficiency, build accountability, and create systems that support long-term growth. His work focuses on financial management, job costing, overhead allocation, leadership development, organizational structure, and operational processes that enable companies to scale without sacrificing profitability or quality.
Michael became involved with Remodelers Advantage in 2016 and has since served as a consultant, facilitator, educator, and trusted advisor to remodeling companies across North America. Drawing from both his successes and hard-earned lessons as a business owner, he helps leaders gain clarity, make better decisions, and build businesses that serve their lives rather than consume them.
Today, Michael works exclusively with construction and remodeling business owners through coaching, consulting, workshops, and strategic planning engagements. His mission is simple: help great builders become great business operators.
Michael is a four-time Remodelers Advantage Impact Award nominee, and Coleman Creek Construction was recognized as a 2019 Big50 company and a finalist for the Fred Case Remodeling Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Whether facilitating leadership discussions, teaching financial management, or helping companies navigate growth challenges, Michael brings a rare combination of operational expertise, financial acumen, and real-world ownership experience to every engagement.
Personal Life
When he’s not working with business owners, Michael can usually be found traveling, surfing, playing music, or spending time with family and friends.
He is the proud father of two adult children who continue to inspire him with the lives they are building. His daughter, Ember, is a mechanical engineer whose problem-solving mindset and determination make her a natural innovator. His son, Salvatore, combines a strong analytical mind with a passion for music, blending technical skills and creativity in much the same way Michael has throughout his own career.
Music has long been a shared interest within the family. Michael plays guitar, bass, and piano and enjoys both recording and producing music. He is also an avid traveler and surfer who believes some of life’s best lessons happen outside the office, whether in a lineup waiting for the next wave or while exploring a new corner of the world.
These experiences continue to shape the perspective he brings to his work: success is important, but building a life that allows time for family, health, adventure, and personal growth is what truly matters.
